Esmerling Vazquez allowed just two hits in 7 2/3 innings of scoreless relief Thursday night to lift the Rochester Red Wings to a 5-2 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the final game of an International League series.

Corban Joseph hit a two-run home run in the first and Rochester starting pitcher P.J. Walters retired just two batters.

Vazquez shut down the Yankees and Rochester won the game with a four-run fourth inning. Eduardo Escobar and Rene Rivera had back-to-back doubles in the inning.

John Maine (5-4) took the loss.

Vazquez struck out seven and walked four. Daniel Turpen got the save.

The Yankees start a two-game series in Buffalo Friday.
