Eduardo Nunez and Melky Mesa each went 3-for-4 Monday night when the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 7-5, in an International League game.

Nunez scored twice and drove in two runs. Mesa scored twice and drove in one.

The Yankees won their fifth straight to reduce their magic number to nine for winning the IL North Division.

Ramon Ortiz (12-5) earned the win while not walking a batter in seven innings. Ryota Igarashi got the final four outs for his ninth save.

The teams meet again Tuesday at 1:05 p.m.
