SCRANTON -- Jayvon Jones scored 8:47 into overtime Friday morning to lift West Scranton to a 2-1 win over Scranton at Memorial Stadium in a Division 1 game that opened the Lackawanna League boys soccer season.

Jones had assisted on a goal by freshman Tyler Jakes early in the second half to give West Scranton a 1-0 lead.

Scranton's Jamie Fernandes one-timed a Shukran Rahim corner kick into the net with 1:35 left in regulation to force overtime.

Jorge Guevara assisted on the game-winner by Jones to end the game in the first of a possible two 10-minute overtime periods.
